Kohima: The Kohima Lotha Hoho installed its new leadership team for the 2026-2029 term during a general meeting at the Capital Convention Centre in Kohima. Dr. Chumben Murry, advisor to the Chief Minister, attended as the special guest on June 30, 2026.
Dr. Murry challenged the crowd to adapt to rapid technological shifts. He emphasized that Nagaland needs to stay in lockstep with the nation as it pushes toward the Viksit Bharat 2027 initiative. He told the incoming board members they are the face of their people. "You are ambassadors of the Lotha community and must work for its welfare," he said.
K. N. Mhonthung Lotha now heads the organization as chairman. He leads a team of 12 officials and five advisors tasked with three years of service. Outgoing leaders cleared the desk before the transition. Khyojamo Tungoe delivered the audit report for the 2025 Jubilee, while outgoing secretary S. Chonbemo Lotha and treasurer L. Yanremo Mozhui recapped the previous two years.
Rev. Dr. K. Benry Lotha led the dedicatory prayer for the incoming staff. The event wrapped up after community members debated welfare agendas. Jonas Yanthan delivered the final vote of thanks following music from E. Motsuthung Lotha.
