Guwahati: The Karbi Anglong district administration is gearing up for the upcoming national census following a key preparatory meeting held at the District Commissioner’s Office. District Commissioner Aranyak Saikia led the session with senior officials to align local operations with government guidelines and timelines.
Saikia emphasized the need for careful planning and strict adherence to official procedures to ensure the process runs smoothly. He encouraged departments to take proactive measures and noted that community awareness will be essential for successful data collection.
Operational details were outlined by Additional District Commissioner P.K. Gupta, who confirmed that house listing is set to begin on August 2. The administration is currently organizing training programs for supervisors and enumerators while addressing logistical needs, such as venue selection and the distribution of essential materials.
Officials have been tasked with maintaining close coordination across all departments to meet the government’s project requirements. The focus remains on preparing the necessary infrastructure and personnel to complete the census exercise effectively throughout the district.
