Shillong: Fourteen media members from Meghalaya and Sikkim hit the ground in Kochi this Sunday. They arrived for a joint press tour of Kerala running from September 6 to 11. Officials from the Press Information Bureau in Kochi met the group to coordinate the week ahead. The team is on the move.
This tour includes six accredited journalists from Meghalaya, six from Sikkim, and two conducting officers. They want to show audiences back home exactly how federal projects function. The group will inspect vital sites involving ports, shipping, and inland waterways. They plan to cover defense installations, marine fisheries, and the rubber sector. They will also visit shipbuilding and industrial development sites.
The Press Information Bureau stated the mission focuses on providing "firsthand exposure to central government establishments, developmental projects and success stories across the state." This initiative bridges the gap between federal policy and public awareness in the two northeastern states.
