Guwahati: Indian singer Joi Barua dropped his quantum physics track Teleportation on October 2. The project features two distinct versions for global audiences. British vocalist Tom Ball performs the international edition, while Barua handles vocals for the Indian and subcontinental release.
The song brings together a 70-piece Royal Philharmonic Orchestra recorded at Abbey Road Studios. It ties into NASA’s COSI mission, exploring cosmic frontiers. Dr. Susan Lim conceived and wrote the track alongside Harvard neurology fellow Christina Teenz Tan. Barua co-composed the music with French orchestrator Manu Martin.
The lyrics examine quantum entanglement, looking at how particles stay connected across massive distances. The track uses a sci-fi narrative to map out human connection and space travel. “Teleportation was born out of a fascination with how the deepest laws of physics mirror the simplest truths of being human,” Lim said.
Barua called the Abbey Road session a landmark moment. Artist Samudra Kajal Saikia built the visual world for the single. UK-based Signum Records published the work ahead of World Space Week, which runs from October 4 to 10. The 2026 theme is Rocket Revolution. Listeners can find the song on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music.
