Jiva Cares Distributes Over 800 Saplings in Shillong for World Environment Day

Shillong: Jiva Cares hosted a sapling distribution event at the Old Assembly Bus Stand in Shillong on Friday. The drive marked World Environment Day by encouraging residents to participate in local conservation efforts.

Organizers gave away more than 800 fruit-bearing and ornamental trees to members of the public, students, and local environmental enthusiasts. The variety of saplings included Peach, Plum, Orange, Pear, Jacaranda, Erythrina, Magnolia, Camellia, Hibiscus, and Bottle Brush.

Representatives from Jiva Cares highlighted the need for collective action to protect the environment for future generations. The organization expressed a long-term goal of fostering a healthier local ecosystem. "Jiva Cares remains committed to serving the community through meaningful social and environmental initiatives that contribute towards building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Shillong," the group stated.
