Itanagar: Itanagar traffic police are clearing the roads. Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan arrives in the city on September 9, 2026, to attend the Seventh Special Session of the Eighth Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Officers want the streets empty.
The Superintendent of Police for the Itanagar Capital Region, B. L. Suresh, issued an official advisory on September 7 to manage the flow of vehicles. Two key stretches are now off-limits for parking. You cannot park between the JNK Traffic Point and the Malla Tarin Government Higher Secondary School junction. This rule applies to all areas inside the white road markings.
Drivers must also avoid the road from Arun Subansiri Point to the Donyi Polo International Hotel. That stretch is a restricted zone for the entire day. The city expects heavy security presence. Residents living in the Lobi area should use the alternate route through Mob-II Road, connecting Lobi Panch Ali to Niti Vihar Point.
The police hold a firm stance on enforcement. Any vehicle left in a no-parking zone faces immediate removal. "Vehicles found parked in violation of the advisory will be towed away and dealt with under the relevant penal provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988," the department stated. The OC Traffic Itanagar and the MV Checking Team are tasked with monitoring the roads to ensure these rules hold up.
