Guwahati: A thief broke into the Ramayani Sahitya Research Institute in Guwahati. The intruder smashed a window to enter the facility at House No. 23, Bye Lane No. 6, Mamoni Raisom Goswami Path, Gandhi Basti, Notun Sarania. They tore through the office space.
The centre honors the late Jnanpith Award winner Mamoni Raisom Goswami. An employee walked in on the break-in. The thief ran away immediately. Security concerns now surround the building that houses her literary life work.
Police must verify if any documents or assets went missing. Authorities stated, "Police are expected to investigate the incident and ascertain whether any valuable documents or other belongings were stolen from the premises."
