Itanagar: The Indian Army officially opened a new transit facility on Friday, May 15, at the Sigar Military Station located in the East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. This project, known as Ashiyana, was spearheaded by the Spearhead Gunners under the guidance of the Spearhead Division to serve as a vital stopover for soldiers traveling to and from isolated operational zones.

Designed to support troops stationed in strategically significant frontier areas, the facility provides essential amenities meant to bolster morale and overall well-being. By integrating welfare-focused infrastructure with the military's primary goal of maintaining readiness in challenging environments, the Army aims to provide a more comfortable experience for its personnel.

Senior military officers who attended the inauguration emphasized that high-quality support structures are crucial for enhancing combat effectiveness and efficiency. The launch of Ashiyana is expected to streamline logistical support while significantly improving the living conditions of soldiers operating along the frontier.
