Immanuel College Hosts Tuberculosis Awareness and Screening Campaign

Kohima: The NSS Unit of Immanuel College in Dimapur hosted a one-day tuberculosis awareness event on June 15. Held at the college conference hall, the program supported the national TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 100-day campaign.

Dr. Benchilo Ngullie, the District Programme Officer for Communicable Disease 2, served as the resource person. She covered the causes, symptoms, treatment options, and prevention methods for the disease. During her address, she urged attendees to stop marginalizing those affected by the illness, stating, "She emphasised the importance of removing the stigma associated with TB patients and encouraged timely diagnosis and treatment."

More than 100 staff members and NSS volunteers attended the session. Following the lecture, participants took part in a voluntary TB and X-ray screening camp. College Principal Dr. Th. Sharatchandra Singh opened the event with a welcome address, while Idohingbo chaired the proceedings and K. Obed Chang delivered the vote of thanks.
