IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall Across Northeast India

Kohima: The India Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for Northeast India, forecasting isolated heavy rainfall and storm conditions across the region between May 21 and May 26. Residents should prepare for scattered to fairly widespread light or moderate rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.

Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura can expect initial rainfall on May 21, followed by a period of isolated heavy downpours lasting from May 22 through May 26. Arunachal Pradesh is also under alert for isolated heavy rainfall on May 22, 25, and 26, with conditions escalating to very heavy rainfall on May 23 and 24.

Assam and Meghalaya will see scattered rainfall on May 23 and 24, with isolated heavy rainfall predicted for May 21, 22, and 26. These two states are also expected to experience isolated very heavy rainfall from May 23 to May 25.
