Itanagar: Flash floods and massive landslides have choked off Lower Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh. A week of heavy rain destroyed bridges and buried roads, leaving villages like Rotte, Rame, and Loglu completely isolated. Surface travel is impossible.

The state government dispatched a Skyone Airways Mi-172 helicopter to handle the emergency. It will ferry food and medical supplies from the Pasighat Advanced Landing Ground to the Koyu helipad. Authorities confirmed the flight schedule, noting that "the helicopter will leave Naharlagun at 8 am on Saturday and reach Koyu about an hour later, from where emergency relief distribution will commence."

Ground crews remain on high alert. Teams from disaster management and food safety departments wait at multiple stations to unload cargo. Meanwhile, workers are attacking the debris on the Likabali-Basar-Bame stretch.

This road is a primary supply line for seven border districts. Additional Deputy Commissioner Mokar Riba ordered strict, time-bound traffic restrictions to allow cleanup work. Officials warned that anyone who ignores these road rules will face immediate legal trouble.
