Itanagar: Persistent heavy rainfall across Arunachal Pradesh since Tuesday night has triggered severe flooding in the town of Deomali. The Chatjo River overflowed its banks, causing significant damage to local roads, bridges, and essential infrastructure within the Tirap district.

Residents in Batey Colony, NCI Colony, and KVK Colony are reporting major disruptions to daily life due to widespread waterlogging. Along with residential areas, a private school sustained structural damage during the deluge. The destruction of key transit routes has severely hampered the movement of both local residents and vehicles.

Members of the community are calling on the Tirap district administration to prioritize repairs and provide aid to those whose homes were affected. Local citizens have appealed for "urgent remedial measures and provide assistance to affected families" to restore normalcy to the region.

The India Meteorological Department maintains a high alert for Arunachal Pradesh as the monsoon season intensifies. Officials warn that the risk of landslides and river erosion remains high, and they are urging residents in low-lying areas to exercise caution as forecasts predict continued heavy rainfall throughout the coming days.
