Shillong: The Khasi Jaintia Welfare Association teamed up with the Commissionerate of Food Safety to host a workshop in Mawlai Phudmuri. They wanted to improve local hygiene. The session, themed From Burden to Solutions: Safe Food Everywhere, aimed to educate shop owners and residents on basic safety practices.
Mawlai Phudmuri Dorbar Shnong hosted the event. KJWA general secretary Dr. AW Rani led the meeting. Experts laid out the facts. They discussed how to store food, clean commercial kitchens, and read labels correctly.
DBS Mukhim, the Deputy Commissioner of the Commissionerate of Food Safety, served as the primary speaker. He told the crowd, "From Burden to Solutions: Safe Food Everywhere." Mukhim emphasized that businesses must keep their establishments clean to protect their customers.
