Guwahati: Hailakandi police hauled in four suspected cyber criminals this week. The men ran a sophisticated operation centered on online fraud and illegal gambling apps. Victims lost lakhs of rupees to the scam.

Investigators believe this outfit is just one piece of a much larger criminal network. The group allegedly coordinated with a Chinese hacker syndicate to keep their betting platforms running. Local authorities are digging through financial records to track the money and find the rest of the crew.

Police identified two suspects as Gaurav Ray Chaudhury and Jaharul Hasan Choudhury. They are holding the other two men while they verify identities. An official statement noted, "Investigators suspect the racket was part of a larger organised cybercrime network." The hunt for additional suspects remains ongoing as police look to map out the full extent of the operation.
