Guwahati: The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is hosting a regional workshop in Guwahati on May 29 to focus on improving service delivery in rural areas. Titled Seva Se Samriddhi, the event aims to strengthen grassroots governance and simplify the lives of citizens through more accountable local bodies. The Ministry is organizing the program in collaboration with the Common Services Centre Special Purpose Vehicle and the Assam government.
Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj S. P. Singh Baghel will chair the proceedings alongside Assam Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Atul Bora. They will be joined by senior officials from the central government, state representatives, and experts in digital infrastructure. Participants include delegations from Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Telangana, as well as stakeholders from research institutions and civil society.
Discussions will center on digital transformation, multilingual governance, and new innovations in rural administration. The agenda features panel sessions and forums where attendees can share successful state-level strategies. A special segment will highlight Assam's Sewa Setu initiative and its unique governance models. To recognize excellence in the field, the organizers will present awards to high-performing Gram Panchayats and Common Services Centres during the event.
