Guwahati: Guwahati Police locked down the area around Panbazar Higher Secondary School. They slapped a prohibitory order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita on the site. The rules take effect June 28 for the Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test.

Officials want a clean test. They fear outsiders or digital cheats will ruin the results. Police noted that in the past, bad actors used platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, X, and YouTube to push unfair advantages. The Commissioner of Police stated, "Any such incident could compromise the integrity of the examination and create law and order issues."

Lower Primary tests run from 9 am to 12 noon. Upper Primary exams follow from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. Roughly 473 candidates are set to show up for the papers. The police order aims to keep the crowd under control and shut down any interference with the recruitment process.
