Guwahati: Guwahati Mayor Mrigen Sarania opened two new link roads in the Basistha area on Wednesday. The project targets the Shanti Nagar neighborhood to smooth out traffic flow. These roads bridge the gap between Damsite and Model Village in the Latakata pocket. Travel times should drop. Residents gain better access to essential services.

Sarania spoke at the scene with local councillor Jun Das and city officials. The Guwahati Municipal Corporation plans to keep building across the city. The mayor stated, "The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) remains committed to strengthening urban infrastructure and ensuring balanced development across different parts of the city."

City leaders want to fix the congestion on internal roads. The city is growing fast. Officials feel the pressure to upgrade urban mobility. Sarania promised more projects to meet public demands. Local residents watched as the ribbon was cut. They expect a much easier daily commute starting today.
