Governor Bhalla reviews support for Manipur veterans

Imphal: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla gathered top officials at Raj Bhavan today. The group held the third meeting of the Rajya Sainik Board to fix gaps in veteran support. They want better results for ex-servicemen, war widows, and their dependents across Manipur.

The board put a new Sainik Rest House-cum-Office Complex on the table. They also discussed adding staff to push services deeper into the districts. This expansion aims to sharpen how the board handles rehabilitation and resettlement duties.

The session drew a heavy crowd of brass. The Chief Secretary, Commissioner for Home, Special Secretary for Finance, and the General Officer Commanding of the 57 Mountain Division took their seats. District leaders from Imphal East, Imphal West, and Churachandpur joined representatives from the veteran community to hammer out the details.

The meeting deliberated on ways to strengthen the implementation of welfare schemes and improve institutional support for the veteran community across the state.
