Imphal: The Global Naga Forum (GNF) recently completed a relief mission to support communities in Manipur's Kamjong District. These families were left displaced after violent attacks on May 7, 2026, destroyed homes in the villages of Choro, Wanglee, and Namlee.
Led by Convenor Chuba Ozukum and Co-Convenor Prof. Rosemary Dzuvichu, the GNF team transported food, clothing, and emergency medicine from Kohima to Ukhrul. These supplies were provided by donors across Nagaland and abroad. Upon arriving in Ukhrul, the team met with leaders from the Tangkhul Naga Long and the Tangkhul Shanao Long to discuss the ongoing crisis.
On May 31, GNF General Secretary Lakpachui Siro and local volunteers delivered the aid to Choro Village. Village leaders gathered at the local church to receive the supplies, which were shared among the three affected communities. The relief mission concluded with a show of solidarity for the victims.
The GNF continues to advocate for the displaced residents and is calling on the state government to speed up rehabilitation and compensation efforts. The organization remains committed to assisting the victims through their recovery process.
