Guwahati: Assam Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi wants the North East Democratic Alliance disbanded. He claims the political group failed to settle regional border disputes despite the BJP holding power at the Centre since 2014. He slammed the current situation as a complete failure.
Speaking to reporters in Guwahati on July 9, Gogoi pointed to the ongoing boundary tensions between Northeastern states. He argued that the alliance, led by the Assam Chief Minister, missed its main mark. "This is one of the most important issues that the Centre and the state government should have resolved," Gogoi said.
The veteran politician pressed for action. He wants Supreme Court cases regarding these borders moved along faster. He hopes these steps bring an end to decades of fighting. Meanwhile, Assam and other states continue to hunt for solutions through legal routes and direct talks.
