Guwahati: G Ramesh Kumar officially took charge as the Chief General Manager for the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development in its Assam Regional Office. He replaces Loken Das. The move is effective immediately.
Kumar arrives with over 30 years of banking experience. His career covers corporate debt, project financing, and rural development work. Officials believe this background makes him the right fit to lead local operations.
The agency expects Kumar to drive agricultural growth and better financial access across the state. NABARD stated that Kumar's extensive background in development-oriented banking is "expected to further strengthen the institution's efforts towards rural development, agricultural growth, financial inclusion, and infrastructure creation in the state."
The bank serves as the primary lender for rural and agricultural projects. It manages credit delivery and promotes sustainable growth throughout Assam and the wider Northeast region.
