Future Development Organisation Named Solar Scheme Dealer in Manipur

Imphal: The Future Development Organisation (FDO), based in Imphal, has been named an authorised dealer for Sun Shakti and Natural Private Limited. The appointment focuses on rolling out the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana across Manipur. CEO Mohammad Abdullah Chatwal formally presented the authorisation certificate to L. Dhanaraj, the Marketing Project Director of Sun Shakti NorthEast, at a ceremony in Naoremthong.

This federal rooftop solar initiative allows participating households to receive up to 300 units of free electricity each month. Residents can also access a one-time subsidy covering up to 60 per cent of the total installation costs. Beyond lowering monthly utility bills, the program aims to create new jobs and support environmental sustainability through clean energy adoption.

During the event, Abdullah Chatwal explained the broader impact of the partnership. He said, "The initiative aims to facilitate the effective implementation of the Centre's flagship rooftop solar scheme in the state."

The company provides a wide range of solar solutions, including hybrid systems, inverters, and water pumps. Families who generate excess energy may also earn extra income through power purchase agreements with the government. Looking ahead, the FDO plans to survey locations across Imphal to determine potential sites for new electric vehicle charging stations.
