Four Labourers Killed in Truck Accident Near Tripura Border

Agartala: A tragic road accident occurred on Sunday evening in the Longtarai Valley subdivision of Tripura’s Dhalai district, resulting in the deaths of four labourers. The incident took place near the Indo-Bangladesh border when a truck transporting stone chips for local infrastructure projects lost control while attempting to navigate a steep, damaged section of the road.

According to Sub-divisional Police Officer Sonacharan Jamatia, the vehicle failed to climb the incline and overturned while reversing. Four labourers, who had been sitting atop the load of stone chips, were thrown from the vehicle and fatally buried under the collapsing materials. They were identified as Balidhanjoy Tripura (47), Majida Tripura (50), Bathojoy Tripura (39), and Narjoy Tripura (36). Those travelling inside the cabin survived the accident, though six individuals sustained various injuries, with one person reported to be in critical condition.
