Imphal: Joint security forces arrested four individuals in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Monday. The operation, involving the Manipur Police, the Central Reserve Police Force, and the Assam Rifles, took place along the road connecting P. Molding and Leilon Vaiphei. Officials launched these search efforts after six people were abducted from Leilon Vaiphei on May 13, 2026.

Authorities identified the detainees as Thangkhomang Khongsai, 51, Seikholet Khongsai, 40, Lunminthang Dimngel, 27, and Kamgoulal Khongsai, 30. Security officials believe these men are active members of armed village volunteer groups operating within the district.

The group faces allegations of criminal intimidation, extortion, and the illegal possession of weapons. Investigators are currently working to determine the extent of the men's involvement in the recent abduction case. Further inquiries into the situation remain ongoing.
