Imphal: Former Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga warned that Manipur remains trapped in a cycle of instability. Speaking in Delhi, he described the internal state divisions as exceptionally deep. The path forward is not simple.
Zoramthanga compared the ongoing strife to a festering wound that cannot heal by merely forcing opposing sides to meet. He emphasized that the state needs a more thoughtful approach to find any lasting stability. "Manipur problem is a very difficult problem to solve," he stated.
The veteran politician insists that reconciliation is possible if the government prioritizes active listening. He urged officials in New Delhi to engage directly with affected communities to identify the root causes of their frustration. "There is nothing in the world which cannot be healed. The problem of Manipur can also be healed by consulting the people and listening to their problem," Zoramthanga said. He remains optimistic that a solution exists if the administration takes these specific concerns into account.
