Itanagar: A group of former All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union leaders joined the BJP on Monday. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, state president Kaling Moyong, and Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak oversaw the induction in the state capital.
Former AAPSU president Tana Doji Tara and ex-general secretary Ritum Tali led the switch. Other notable arrivals included student activists Pangngam Wangnaw, Suraj Tayem, and Pakmik Taipodia. Senior figures like Agriculture Minister Gabriel Wangsu and general secretary Tadar Niglar were also on hand to welcome them.
The new recruits pointed to a decade of state progress under the current administration. Tana Doji Tara and Ritum Tali noted they were encouraged by the BJP government's developmental initiatives in Arunachal Pradesh. They also pledged to support the party platform moving forward.
Tai Tagak expects their history in student activism to bridge the gap with the public. He said their experience in student leadership would help them emerge as public leaders and contribute to spreading awareness about government schemes and policies at the grassroots level.
Kaling Moyong tasked the newcomers with bolstering the party organization. He specifically pushed for more work in the Liromoba and Doimukh constituencies, areas where the BJP lost during the last election cycle.
