Itanagar: Flash floods sparked by heavy rainfall have caused significant destruction in the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. The deluge destroyed key infrastructure, including the RCC bridge at Nyo Koro near Ningping village and a vital link between Longte village and Giba headquarters. These losses have cut off transport routes and disrupted movement for many residents in the area.

Residential areas were also hit hard. In Ningping village, seven houses sustained severe damage, and residents reported losses involving livestock and agricultural land. Near the Chiputa region, heavy rain has further destabilized roads at Chukhu Nallah, increasing the threat of mudslides and erosion.

The District Disaster Management Authority has issued a formal advisory urging locals to stay away from rivers to avoid fishing or other activities. Officials are currently conducting a comprehensive assessment of the destruction as they continue to monitor the evolving situation. State authorities remain on high alert as the weather forecast warns of more heavy rain, thunderstorms, and potential flash floods through Tuesday.
