Five Injured as Vehicle Crashes in Assam's Kokrajhar District

Guwahati: Five people sustained injuries on May 30 after their passenger vehicle crashed into a roadside ditch in the Kokrajhar district of Assam. The accident occurred near Ultapani along the Bishmuri to Saralpara road, situated within the Sikhna Jwhwlao National Park area.

The vehicle, bearing registration number AS 01 FB 3867, was traveling from Goalpara toward the Saralpara picnic spot. According to reports, the driver lost control while allegedly speeding, causing the car to skid off the road and fall into the ditch.

Local residents and emergency responders arrived at the scene to assist in the rescue efforts. The five injured youths were transported to a nearby facility for medical care, though their current conditions remain unconfirmed.

This incident has prompted concerns regarding reckless driving along the winding roads that traverse the national park. Local police have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
