Itanagar: A federal team touched down in Keyi Panyor to scout the wreckage left by a massive cloudburst. The Inter-Ministerial Central Team, led by Home Affairs Joint Secretary Nishtha Tiwari, surveyed landslides and shattered roads that cut off the district. They arrived by road from Itanagar alongside Arunachal Disaster Management Secretary Dani Salu.

The storm hit June 24. It triggered flash floods that killed three people and left two others missing. Disaster zones like Posa NEEPCO Colony and Possa village faced the brunt of the destruction. The team inspected ruined government buildings and homes while hearing accounts from displaced families.

Officials reviewed restoration efforts with Deputy Commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti and SP Angad Mehta. They evaluated the heavy toll on public infrastructure and local farms. The team will now report their findings to the Ministry of Home Affairs to determine the size of the emergency aid package. As one official noted, the visit serves to "evaluate the requirement for additional financial assistance from the Centre."
