Guwahati: A 40-year-old man and his eight-year-old son died on June 22 after a tree crushed their scooter in the Chandubi Rajapara area near Guwahati. Kartik Rabha and his son Bhrigumoni Rabha were riding toward a relative's home in Rajapara. The pair never arrived.

A dead, unstable tree snapped near the Muduki-Hatigarh intersection. It struck their two-wheeler with enough force to kill both instantly. Locals watched the tragedy unfold and called the police. Help arrived too late to save them.

Palashbari police officers cleared the wreckage and moved the bodies from the scene. The incident sparked anger among local residents regarding public safety. One witness noted the danger of the location, stating the area needs "timely identification and removal of potentially hazardous trees to prevent similar accidents."

Workers spent hours clearing the debris to reopen the road. The community remains in shock following the sudden loss.
