Guwahati: A motorcycle crash claimed the life of 23-year-old Pritam Nath in Assam. The accident occurred around 8 pm on October 1 in the Narsinghpur area. His bike collided with a car on National Highway 306, the key route linking Silchar and Aizawl. Locals pulled him from the wreckage and raced him to Silchar Medical College Hospital. It was too late. Doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Grief struck the family with sudden force. Pritam's uncle, 65-year-old Bimal Nath, heard the news and collapsed. He suffered a fatal heart attack. Relatives hurried him to the hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead as well. The dual loss left the village of Sundari Part II in deep mourning.

Locals pointed fingers at the road conditions. The highway remains riddled with potholes and unfinished construction. Residents claim these hazards force drivers into dangerous maneuvers. One neighbor stated, "the Narsinghpur stretch of NH-306 has become accident-prone due to potholes and incomplete road construction." Investigators have yet to confirm if a pothole triggered the crash.

Police from Dholai station arrived at the site to start their work. They seized the damaged vehicles for further examination. Locals are now demanding immediate repairs to the highway to stop the body count from rising further.
