Shillong: A massive pine tree crashed down onto overhead power lines on Zigzag Road in Rilbong Wednesday morning. The impact severed electricity for the local area and blocked all vehicle traffic.
Crews from MeECL and the Forest department rushed to the scene. They worked to haul the timber off the road and secure the lines. The route is now open for transit again.
