Itanagar: The Fashion & Design Council of Arunachal Pradesh (F&DCAP) successfully hosted the inaugural phase of auditions and registrations for the Apatani’s Next Top Model competition. The event, held at the Hija Youth Association Badminton Hall in Hija Village, marks a significant milestone in the organization's mission to establish a sustainable and globally connected indigenous fashion ecosystem across the state.
This initiative falls under the broader umbrella of the Apatani Fashion Week and the overarching Arunachal Fashion Week, which serves as a platform to empower local artisans, weavers, designers, and creative professionals. By fostering opportunities for models, stylists, and photographers, the F&DCAP aims to bridge the gap in professional infrastructure for indigenous youth, ensuring their cultural heritage is represented on a larger, more structured stage.
The upcoming Apatani Fashion Week is scheduled to take place during the Dree Festival celebrations from July 1st to 6th. The first two days will focus on the Apatani’s Next Top Model competition, while the remainder of the week will feature designer showcases, networking sessions, and cultural exchanges. The event includes diverse categories, such as Mr. and Miss Apatani’s Next Top Model, alongside inclusive categories and the 'Ada' segment, designed to encourage broad community participation.
