Emma Raducanu pulls out of Wimbledon with leg injury

Shillong: Emma Raducanu dropped out of Wimbledon on Sunday. A stress fracture in her right leg ended her tournament run before it even started. She was set to face Antonia Ruzic on No. 1 Court Monday.

Raducanu broke the news on Instagram. She has been managing the injury since her performance at the Queen’s Club final earlier this month. The 2021 US Open winner confirmed her status late Sunday evening.

Her exit leaves the event without its top British draw. Fans expected a deep run. Now, she heads to the sidelines to heal. "Emma Raducanu withdraws on eve of opening match," the official report stated.
