Elephant Falls Launches Evening Cultural Program in Shillong

Shillong: The San Shnong Youth Welfare Organisation kicked off a new cultural showcase at Elephant Falls this past Friday. The initiative aims to keep tourists occupied long after the sun goes down. It features local music, art, and storytelling to highlight Khasi heritage.

Commissioner and Secretary to the state government, Cyril VD Diengdoh, served as the chief guest for the launch. He attended alongside advisers, youth organization members, and various invitees. Organizers confirmed the project serves to promote the cultural identity of Meghalaya.

The group wants to expand tourist activities beyond standard daytime sightseeing. This platform gives local youth a place to display their creative work. Organizers hope the event will enhance the experience for visitors at one of the state's most popular attractions. As the organization stated, the effort is an "initiative intended to promote Meghalaya’s cultural identity while enhancing the overall visitor experience at one of the state’s most popular attractions."
