East Dimapur Town Council Bans Illegal Dumping After Cleanup Effort

Kohima: The East Dimapur Town Council has issued a stern warning against illegal dumping following a successful operation to clear sewage and waste from its jurisdiction on June 2. Authorities stated that individuals, businesses, and vehicle owners caught disposing of trash, construction debris, or sewage in unauthorized areas will face strict penalties.

To support long-term cleanliness, the council is calling on all residential and commercial occupants to segregate wet and dry waste at the source. Officials emphasized that this practice is essential for maintaining public hygiene and protecting the local environment.

The council is currently utilizing the Dimapur Municipal Council dumping site under a temporary one-month agreement to manage collected waste. During this time, leaders are urging citizens to show civic responsibility to keep the town healthy and livable for everyone.
