East Dimapur Council Targets Single Use Plastic Violators

Kohima: The East Dimapur Town Council is cracking down. Inspectors are hitting the streets to enforce the total ban on single-use plastics. The council confirmed the rule covers all manufacturing, stocking, distribution, and sales across every local business and shop.

This enforcement drive starts now. Officials will seize illegal materials and hit offenders with heavy fines if they catch them breaking the law. The council maintains that "the prohibition on the manufacture, stocking, distribution, sale and use of Single Use Plastic (SUP) remains strictly in force as per the directives of the Government of Nagaland."

The council expects results. They are calling on market associations, ward councillors, and every resident to follow the rules. Violators face immediate penal action under government guidelines.
