Itanagar: Donyi Polo Airport in Itanagar marked Yatri Suvidha Diwas on Monday by launching a series of initiatives aimed at improving traveller convenience. Airport staff welcomed arrivals with traditional ceremonies and distributed saplings to support the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign. The airport also installed a photo booth and initiated a feedback collection process to better understand the needs of its passengers.

Airport Director Narender noted that these events reinforce a broader commitment to operational excellence. He stated, "The activities were organised to improve the overall travel experience for passengers and to reinforce the Airports Authority of India's commitment to delivering high-quality services and hassle-free airport facilities."

Infrastructure improvements have also been implemented at the facility following the optimisation of the new terminal. Notably, the airport expanded its parking capacity from 100 to 300 vehicles to accommodate more travellers. Management also addressed recent changes to flight schedules resulting from the ongoing crisis in West Asia. Starting June 16, direct flights to Kolkata will operate four days a week, with service suspended on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Yatri Suvidha Diwas is an annual event observed at airports across India under the guidance of the Airports Authority of India. The nationwide celebration typically features health camps, cultural displays, and sustainability programs designed to engage the community and enhance service standards for all airport users.
