Itanagar: Dirang MLA Phurpa Tsering handed over his salary from the last seven months to help families shattered by floods. The donation hits a total of 7.5 lakh rupees. It targets families struggling in the Keyi Panyor district.

Relentless rain recently triggered landslides and flash floods across the region. Homes and infrastructure took a massive hit. The money will support ongoing rehabilitation efforts. Tsering, often called Awo Phurpa, wants others to follow suit.

He pushed for unity during this disaster. "The state was going through a challenging period," Tsering said. He urged the people and leaders of Dirang to back the victims. Relief agencies are still on the ground clearing damage and helping residents get back on their feet.
