Kohima: The Weavers Service Centre in Dimapur handed out new looms, lighting units, and weaving accessories on June 24. Three hundred local weavers collected the gear at the Toluvi Village Council Hall. This effort falls under the federally sponsored Hathkargha Samvardhan Sahayata Scheme.

Hekani Jakhalu, advisor for Industries and Commerce, attended as the special guest alongside officials from the District Industries Centre. The government aims to strengthen the local handloom sector and ramp up production. Jakhalu told the crowd, "make effective use of the equipment to enhance productivity and improve livelihoods."

The Ministry of Textiles backs the program. Organizers expect this move to revitalize the region's weaving output.
