Kohima: The Electrical Division of the Department of Power in Dimapur is set to launch a comprehensive disconnection drive starting June 10. This campaign targets all categories of consumers within the division who have failed to settle their outstanding electricity bills. The initiative will continue on a regular basis until further notice.
Beyond addressing non-payment, the department plans to conduct raids against illegal activities. Officials identified meter tampering, unauthorized load alteration, and hooking as primary targets for enforcement. The department stated that it will "take action against various illegal activities" as part of the new operational mandate.
Consumers are urged to clear their arrears immediately to avoid power loss and other inconveniences. For those who believe there are errors in their billing, the department recommends visiting the office of their local Sub-Divisional Officer for clarification. To facilitate payment, the department reminded users that they can view and pay their bills online via the official Department of Power Nagaland portal using their unique consumer ID.
