Kohima: Dimapur police confirmed the arrest of a third suspect linked to a sexual assault case involving a minor girl. The individual, identified as 68-year-old Akangkokba Ao, was taken into custody on June 7.
According to a press note issued by the DCP (Crime) and PRO of Dimapur Police, the suspect is a resident of Residency Colony and originally from Unger village. The official statement noted that with this recent arrest, the police have "so far arrested three persons in connection with the alleged sexual assault case."
Two other suspects, identified as O Watimeren Jamir and Tsuktimongba Ao, were previously detained by authorities. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
