Dimapur Municipal Council Cracks Down on Illegal Construction and Dumping

Kohima: Dimapur Municipal Council officials have ordered a total halt to all unauthorized work inside city limits. The directive follows a surge in illegal activity across the municipal area. Council leaders highlighted several specific offenses, including roadside dumping and building without a proper no-objection certificate.

Construction crews and property owners must stop all projects missing prior authorization from the council. The crackdown also targets unauthorized boring and illegal reconstruction work. The council stated it had observed several illegal activities, "including dumping of materials along roadsides, construction of buildings without obtaining a no-objection certificate (NOC), boring activities without permission, and unauthorised construction or reconstruction of buildings."

Ignore this order at your own risk. Violators will face a fine of Rs 3,000. Further legal action remains on the table for those who continue to break municipal rules.
