Kohima: Nearly 100 entrepreneurs and stakeholders gathered in Dimapur on June 18 for an Entrepreneur Awareness and Special Vendor Development Programme. Held at E-Space in Duncan, the event was organized by the National SC-ST Hub of the National Small Industries Corporation, which operates under the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
Business Association of Nagas Vice President Colo Mero opened the event by stressing the need for local businesses to gain a stronger foothold in government procurement. The sessions featured presentations from several organizations, including the Government e-Marketplace, the State Bank of India, the Food Corporation of India, and the Airports Authority of India.
The event aimed to connect local business owners with broader economic opportunities. Representatives provided guidance on expanding professional networks and navigating government business platforms. To assist with these goals, the program offered free on-the-spot Udyam and Government e-Marketplace registrations for all attendees.
The organizers emphasized that the initiative serves as a core part of their effort to build a robust local economy. According to a press release, the event reaffirmed the collective commitment of partner organizations to "strengthening entrepreneurship and supporting MSMEs in Nagaland." The day concluded with an interactive session and an exhibition that allowed participants to showcase local products and services.
