Kohima: Dimapur Government College added a new graduate level degree to its roster. The Department of History officially opened its Master of Arts in History program on August 10. The launch follows the guidelines of the National Education Policy 2020.
Principal Dr. T. Tiakaba Jamir held the inaugural event. Staff, department heads, faculty, and the first group of postgraduate students looked on. It is a big win for the school. This move pushes the college into the postgraduate market.
The department leadership thanked several state officials for the support. They credited Nagaland Minister for Higher Education and Tribal Affairs Temjen Imna Along, along with Ex-Officio Director of Higher Education V. Lovitoly Sema. The Nagaland University Vice-Chancellor and Department of Higher Education officials also received recognition for their roles in the launch. According to the college, the program marks a "significant milestone" for the Department of History.
