Kohima: Dimapur Government College recently hosted a farewell ceremony for Vice Principal Dr. Meripeni Ngully, who retired from her position on June 2. Her departure marks the end of a long career that evolved from traditional blackboard teaching to the modern era of digital classrooms and ICT-integrated learning.
During the event, colleagues and students celebrated her reputation for professionalism, sharp intelligence, and a meticulous work ethic. Many shared tributes regarding her ability to mentor and influence lives with care and commitment throughout her time at the institution.
Dr. Ngutoli Swu from the Department of History chaired the proceedings, which included speeches from the college principal, staff, and friends. The program finished with a prayer of blessing delivered by Dr. A. Sentiyula of the English department. The college community expressed that while her formal tenure has ended, her influence as an educator and mentor will continue to serve as an inspiration for students and faculty alike.
