Dhubri Police Seize Narcotics Near Medical College

Guwahati: Dhubri district police arrested a man and confiscated a significant cache of illicit drugs on Sunday evening. The raid took place at a residence located next to the Dhubri Medical College and Hospital following reports of narcotics activity in the area.

Officers led by Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Anup Jyoti Borah apprehended Anwar Hussain, a resident of the Jhagrapar area, during the operation. A thorough search of the property resulted in the seizure of 1,260 contraband tablets and several bottles of synthetic cough syrup containing suspected narcotic ingredients. Authorities also found Rs 20,000 in cash at the scene.

Hussain remains in custody as police continue their investigation. Officials are currently working to determine the origin of the substances and identify other individuals who may be part of the distribution network.
