Kohima: Myanthung Patton, Deputy Director of the State Agri Expo, cut the ribbon on the new Daily Needs Bazar on October 1. The market sits at the CMC Agri Expo, 4th Mile, right next to the main gate. Nitoka Hesso, Music Director of Unity Village Sümi Baptist Church, led the dedication prayer. The project is open for business. The facility houses 66 kiosks.
Customers can shop there daily from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The stalls sell everything from groceries to clothing. Organizers also launched a 10-day Food Fest at the same venue that runs through October 10. The festival stays open from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM every night.
The menu spans a vast culinary range. Stalls serve Naga traditional cuisine, biryani, fried chicken, Indian street food, Chinese dishes, barbecue, grills, and seafood. Attendees can also grab Korean street food, desserts, sweets, ice cream, tea, coffee, fresh juices, and mocktails. The management team expects a crowd. "The organisers have invited the public to visit the newly opened market and enjoy the Food Fest during the 10-day period."
