Chumoukedima DC Issues Safety Warning for NH-29

Kohima: Chumoukedima Deputy Commissioner Polan John issued a safety warning this Tuesday for anyone driving the NH-29 stretch between Chathe Bridge and the Khuokhi Bridge in Kukidolong. Heavy monsoon rains create a real risk of rockfalls and mudslides along this corridor. Drive carefully.

You need to stay alert during storms and at night. Follow all local traffic diversions and listen to the site crews. Officials warned that specific sections of the four-lane highway may shut down suddenly if conditions get too dangerous.

"The left-hand side (LHS) carriageway of the 4-lane highway is liable to be temporarily closed to traffic without prior notice, whenever deemed necessary," the DC said. Do not spread rumors about road status or accidents.

Stick to official reports to keep the peace. The administration expects drivers to follow these rules to avoid accidents. The DC added, "The cooperation of all road users is solicited in the interest of public safety."
