Chozuba Officials Enforce Total Ban on Single-Use Plastics

Kohima: Chozuba officials just pulled the plug on single-use plastics. Additional Deputy Commissioner Zapuno Khatso ordered a total ban across the Chozuba sub-division and town council area. It hits the streets immediately.

The order wipes out plastic carry bags, forks, spoons, straws, and plates. It also bans Styrofoam and various plastic films. Khatso noted the move follows previous state directives, stating the ban would be "enforced strictly throughout the Chozuba sub-division with immediate effect."

Government departments must now ditch flex banners and PVC signage. The ban covers items like candy sticks, ear buds, and party decorations. Even small plastic water bottles are off the table for meetings and public events. Officials are targeting any plastic item that adds to the local waste pile.
